Make-Up For ‘Pimp’.

As hair, make-up and special effects make-up designer, I created the overall look using a very specific and intentionally limited colour palette. Inspired by the colours of Soho; I used greys to represent the glistening tarmac, pinks for the neon strip-club signs, blacks to suggest shadows and reds to signify the blood spilled on the streets. This film required a combination of beauty and glamour make-up along with rope burns, track marks, black eyes and a fair amount of blood and bruising.

Make-Up for ‘Jack Falls’.

Shot almost exclusively in black and white, as hair, make-up and special effects designer I took inspiration from the 1940′s Film Noir genre. Colours were carefully considered in order to create realistic blood and scarring and specialist chroma key make-up techniques were applied on lips and nails. With a nod to Hollywood, hair for the leading lady was influenced by the look of Lana Turner.
